Hyderabad: In a fatal accident, two students were killed on spot and another student was severely injured. The accident took place at Tadbund in Secunderabad.

According to the sources, the three students who were heading to Tadbund from Bowenpally. When the trio reached Tadbund, the person riding the bike lost control due to over-speed and fell on the other side of the road. Just after the incident, a truck rammed into the trio killing two on spot.

Two teenagers identified as Anirudh, 19, an intermediate student and Vishwa, 20 were pursuing his degree first year. Both are residents of Buddha Nagar in Malkajgiri. Another student, identified as Akhil, who suffered grievous wounds was rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment, police said.

Apart from rash and negligent driving, defects in road engineering and poor maintenance of road also contributed for the accident, a police official said.

Vehicles with high speed with heavy load, particularly two wheelers cannot be controlled since there was a steep curve at the grave yard near Tadbund, the official said adding that a case has been registered and investigations are underway.
