Hyderabad: City police arrested two persons from New Delhi for allegedly cheating gullible people in the garb of insurance policies. The arrested persons have been identified as Ranjan Kumar Singh and Jitendra Kumar Yadav by the police.

According to the police, Ranjan Kumar runs a call centre in Delhi. He and his associates lure the victims over phone stating that they have insurance policies which offer huge returns on maturity and the same could be claimed immediately by paying some money as commission.

The gang would later persuade their prey to deposit the money into the bank account of Jitendra Kumar. After the money is transferred the duo would simply change the phone number, police said adding that the gang had extracted Rs 3.2 lakh from a retired employee of Hyderabad.

The victim on realising that he had been cheated lodged a complaint with the police. The investigators analysed the call data records, tower locations, and bank account details of the accused and nabbed them from their hideouts in Delhi.
