Woman raped, murdered
A man allegedly raped and murdered his sister-in-law at Gangaram village in Kataram mandal on Sunday late evening hours
Bhupalpalli: A man allegedly raped and murdered his sister-in-law at Gangaram village in Kataram mandal on Sunday late evening hours.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as M Mannemma, a 35-year-old divorcee, residing at SC Colony in the village. Her relatives found her dead in cotton fields near Government Model School in the village during late night hours. Following which they informed the police.
A police team, led by Kataram CI Sadan Kumar, visited the village and inquired about the incident. Suspecting the hand of G Sammaiah, husband of Manemma's younger sister, the police took him into custody for questioning.
The police said that Sammaiah has confessed to crime during interrogation. He reportedly told the police that he strangled the woman to death after abusing her sexually.
The police shifted the body to Mahadevpur government hospital for postmortem and booked a case in connection with the incident.
