Jilted tele-caller ends life
Man arrested for abetting his girlfriend to commit suicide. Madhapur police on Saturday arrested P Shravan Kumar of Jagadgirigutta on charges of cheating K Sunita.

It may be recalled the charred body of Sunita, who worked as tele-caller, was found in Bhagyanagar Cooperative Society in Madhapur on February 15. Initially, police suspected it to be a case of murder.
However, investigations revealed that she committed suicide. According to police, Sunita was in love with Shravan for the last few years. The latter promised to marry her and even took Rs 1 lakh from her to meet his expenses. However, he subsequently refused to marry her for want of dowry.
Police said he began demanding Rs 6 lakh and some gold as dowry to marry her. Further, he recently developed friendship with another woman and began moving with her closely. Sunita repeatedly requested him to marry her but to no use.
“Sunita requested Shravan to confirm his response for the marriage proposal and set a deadline of February 14 since , Valentine’s Day. However, Shravan called her names and asked her to die and leave him in peace,” police said.
A dejected Sunita carried herself with petrol and visited a place of worship in Muthangi on February 14 and the next day she went to Bhagyanagar Cooperative Society between 1 pm and 1.30 pm and immolated herself to death, police added.
According to police, the conversation between Sunita and Shravan on social media networks has been retrieved and the latter also confessed to his guilt. During interrogation, it has also come to light that the accused had ditched at least five other girls in the same manner.
