Hyderabad: City police on Tuesday arrested a self-styled doctor, who allegedly practiced black magic on an 18-year-old girl. The accused has been identified as 65-year-old Syed Abbas Peer Quadri, a resident of Ahmed Nagar in Bandlaguda.

Chandrayanagutta police said that the Quadri administered some kind of drug on the 18-year-old girl, who came to him seeking treatment for thyroid problem. He allegedly performed black magic on her due to which she was completely under his control.

Consequently, she left home on March 6 without informing anyone and reached Quadri’s house. He married the girl as his third wife. As the girl went missing, her family members lodged a missing complaint with the police. During the investigation, police traced the girl to Quadri’s house.

During questioning, the girl narrated the story to the police. Based on her statement, police registered a case against Quadri on charges of cheating and under the provisions of Drugs and Magic Remedies Act and remanded him.
