Three held with demonetised currency
The city police arrested three persons and seized demonetised currency notes worth Rs 44 lakh from their possession.
Hyderabad: The city police arrested three persons and seized demonetised currency notes worth Rs 44 lakh from their possession.
The arrested have been identified as P Sridhar, D Srinivasa Rao both residents of Hayathnagar and K Krishna Reddy of Kukatpally.
According to police, Sridhar collected demonetised currency notes worth Rs 44.48 lakh from one Satyanarayana of Vijayawada through a common friend with an intention to exchange them with the new currency notes for a good commission.
Police got a tip off about the crime and nabbed three accused at Khairatabad in a car, where they waiting to meet some persons who could exchange the currency notes.
The arrested persons along with the cash and the car were handed over to Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police for further action.
