Visakhapatnam: An unemployed B Tech graduate committed suicide and in the note which he addressed to the Chief Minister stated that separate railway zone was the only answer to the growing unemployment problem in the region.The youth identified as P Durga Prasad ended his life by jumping before a running train at Marripalem in the city on April 7 and 10 days after the tragedy his parents P Raju and Varalakshmi found the suicide note.

The parents said Durga Prasad completed his B Tech several years ago but could not find a suitable job. He fell in love with a school teacher while working in a private company but left the job after marriage.Durgaprasad in his letter to the Chief Minister further said his wife has left him due to his unemployment. “Several graduates were finding it difficult to get a job. All the educated people should get employment opportunities and shouldn’t commit suicide like him.

The railway zone can create employment opportunities for the local youth and urged everyone to fight for the railway zone for Visakhapatnam.“I request the government to accord a separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam,” his suicide note read. His parents also demanded the government to allocate a separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam as it was their son’s last wish.
