3 killed as lorry rams into car
Three people died when a lorry hit a car in Prakasam district on Tuesday morning. Immediately after the mishap, the driver fled from the spot. All those travelling in the car were dead.According to the Markapuram DSP Shaik Masum Basha, the three victims were identified as Shaik Yousuf, an AC mechanic, Gangoji Yogendra Babu and Gangoji Omkara Babu, residents of Ongole. Yogendra Babu and Omkara Babu were brothers and sculptors.
The three were friends and they were going to Bestavaripet from Ongole on Tuesday and died in the accident at Kalugotla village cross roads, just a few kilometres away from their destination.The car was completely damaged after the collision with the lorry. The police used an excavator to drag the car from under the lorry and struggled for more than one hour to remove the bodies of the dead. The police said that the primary evidences suggest that it was the mistake of the lorry driver that caused the accident and they were trying to trace him.
