Lover couple dead days after suicide attempt

Hyderabad: The couple, who attempted suicide after their families refused to accept their love, succumbed on Monday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad.

According to the police, 19-year-old Ashwini and 24-year-old Lingaswamy of Majeedpur village in Abdullapurmet mandal of Ranga Reddy district consumed pesticide on April 21 after their parents refused to accept their love and perform their marriage.

The couple was found in an unconscious state in a wood near Dandumailaram village. They were rushed to a private hospital in Hayathnagar. However, the duo succumbed on Monday, police said.
