Kurnool: Pathikonda police arrested a suspect in eight theft cases at Rampalli village under Pathikonda police station limits and recovered gold, silver and other articles worth Rs 6 lakh from his possession.

The accused, identified as Rangaswamy, was produced before the media in the presence of district SP Ake Ravi Krishna here on Tuesday.

The SP said the accused was a habituated offender and was involved in eight theft cases of theft in various places in Pathikonda. He used to mark deserted houses and gain entry after breaking the locks.

Several victims lodged complaints with the Pathkionda police station on thefts. The Dhone sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Baba Fakruddin formed a team to apprehend the accused.
