Hyderabad: City police on Friday arrested suspected ISIS sympathiser from Tolichowki, who was allegedly planning to carry out subversive activities in India.
The suspect, Konakalla Subramanyam aka Omer, a native of Krishna district, embraced Islam in 2014 and visited various places like Gujarat, Srinagar, Tamil Nadu and Mumbai for training in religious and subversive activities, police said.
Omer had been chatting with ISIS sympathisers through social media networks and was in regular conversation with Abu Qahafa Al-Hindi, an ISIS sympathizer from Mumbai.
Police received a tip-off about his planning and arrested him. Police recovered a mobile phone containing incriminating material from the accused.
