Hyderabad: Government Railway Police (GRP) on Saturday claimed to have arrested three persons, including a woman, and seized 100 kg of ganja from their possession.

The accused were smuggling ganja from Vishakhapatnam to Pune in LTT Express, the police said. They were intercepted here

According to GRP, the accused are Bidyasagar Singh, 25, a farmer who hailed from Gajapathi district, Odisha, Muthem Babitha, 25, and Muthem Sunil Kumar, Das Babu, 20, a student, both residents of Sarai village under Dumurigudem Mandal in Visakhapatnam district.

The trio were arrested when they were illegally transporting the dry ganja from Visakhapatnam to Sholapur in General Coach of LTT Express.

The police officials who raided the train seized ganja worth Rs 15 lakh from their possession and arrested the accused under Sections 20 (b) Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
