Drunkard dad smothers 7-yr-old boy to death in Nalgonda
An alcoholic man in a fit of rage killed his seven-year-old son when his wife refused to stay with him. The incident took place at Kompelly village of Thiruamalagiri mandal in Nalgonda district in the wee hours of Monday.

According to police, B Ravi, a daily wage labourer and native of Kompelly, was addicted to liquor. Vexed with Ravi’s behaviour, his wife Nagamani along with their son, B Sai, left for her mother’s house located in the same village one week ago. On Sunday, Ravi in inebriated condition went to his in-laws house and requested Nagamani to return home, to which she refused.
After quarrelling with Nagamani for a while, Ravi took Sai to his home on Sunday night. In a fit of rage, he smothered Sai and threw him into a well.
When kin of Nagamani beat Ravi seeking whereabouts of the boy, he informed them about the heinous crime he committed and showed the well where he threw his son. Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot and took Ravi into custody. Police registered a case and took up the investigation.
