Couple attacked: husband killed, wife critically injured

In a ghastly incident, five unidentified persons attacked a couple, Yerukali Venkatayya (50) and his wife Indramma (38), of Thimmajipet mandal in Nagarkurnool district on Tuesday, while they were returning home on a motorcycle after purchasing new clothes for an obsequies event.
Jadcharla: In a ghastly incident, five unidentified persons attacked a couple, Yerukali Venkatayya (50) and his wife Indramma (38), of Thimmajipet mandal in Nagarkurnool district on Tuesday, while they were returning home on a motorcycle after purchasing new clothes for an obsequies event.
Venkatayya was killed on the spot after the assailants used hunting knives in the attack near Nagasala close to the town.
The assailants travelled in an auto rickshaw and managed to escape within minutes from the scene after the assault, according to eyewitness Venkat Reddy. Indramma’s condition is stated to be serious.
