Two persons were held for cheating job aspirants to the tune of Rs 24 lakhs at Vanasthalipuram in the city on Wednesday. The police could only seize Rs 1.7 lakh from the accused who had promised jobs to the victims in IT companies.

Hyderabad: Two persons were held for cheating job aspirants to the tune of Rs 24 lakhs at Vanasthalipuram in the city on Wednesday. The police could only seize Rs 1.7 lakh from the accused who had promised jobs to the victims in IT companies.

The accused were identified as G Ravindar, 30, resident of Kukatpally, S and Ramakrishna, 25, resident of SR Nagar and who were related to IT industry. While the third accused, Praneeth Reddy, running Career Beez consultancy at Panjagutta remains at large.

The trio with a promise of providing jobs in major IT companies through the backdoor collected amounts between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. They claimed to have received projects from foreign countries, but removed the aspirants alleging that their performance was poor.

When the aspirants became suspicious, they demanded them to return their money. However, the two persons fled and their mobiles phones were also switched off.
