Kadapa: District police personnel have arrested four persons on the charges of organising matka and recovered Rs 1.5 lakh cash, and four mobile phones from them at Raja Reddy street here on Friday.
The accused were identified as Nagerla Ankanna (matka organiser) of Viswanathapuram, matka beaters Sheik Abdul Rajak of Sankarapuram, Chimpiri Prasad of Viswanathapuram, and Sheik Dastagiri Basha of Nayanavaripalle of Chinthakomma Dinne mandal.
Addressing the media, DSP Sheik Basha said I Town Circle Inspector T Satyanarayana, on a tip off, along with his men conducted raids on the matka dens and arrested the accused. The DSP appreciated I Town policemen of their initiation in nabbing them.
