2 friends, minor held for mason’s murder

Vikarabad: The Tandur police on Monday arrested two friends of murdered mason Mudhawat Ramesh (30) and a minor boy. The police recovered hunting sickles, three motorcycles and three mobile phones used in the crime. The minor boy whose services were used to fetch the apparent murder weapon, hunting sickles, was however sent to a juvenile home. The arrested were identified as Mudhawat Balu and Mudhawat Sanjam.

Balu bore grudge against Ramesh as the latter went around the village speaking ill about Balu’s wife. He hatched a plot with Sanjam and the duo murdered Ramesh on the night of October 17 by attacking him with hunting sickles.

According to police, they made Ramesh drink alcohol at a wine shop in Tandur and then Balu signalled Sanjam that it was the right time to attack. They made Ramesh drink more and more liquor and brought him to the outskirts of Kandanelli in Peddemul mandal.

Meanwhile, they sent a minor boy to fetch hunting sickles from a house in the village. The boy complied with the order. The duo attacked Ramesh with hunting sickles on his neck and chest killing him instantly. CI Saidi Reddy supervised the investigation. The accused were remanded in custody.
