Hyderabad: Parents of a 5-year-old boy lodged a complaint with the Osmania University police against a school teacher, after they found welts on his back, suggesting corporal punishment. As per the complaint, the parents of Md Khaja Lateef, a student of UKG who is studying in a private school named Sacred Heart in Tarnaka, were shocked to find welts on his body. They alleged that the injury marks appeared to be result of cane punishment.

One of the teachers allegedly beat the boy for ‘creating nuisance’. Meanwhile, the Balala Hakkula Sangham demanded that the police register a strong case against the accused teacher. “Book the teacher under the provisions of attempt to murder on the boy and school management should be booked under Cruelty Against Children and and Protection of Juvenile Justice Act,” demanded Achyuta Rao, president of the organisation.
