Mahbubnagar: A gang of burglars decamped with Rs 12 lakh and 20 grams gold from a house in Vijayanagar colony of Jadcharla mandal on Thursday.

According to Balaraj yadav, Circle Inspector of Jadcherla, the house owner Ramesh babu, a real estate dealer, who had gone to Hyderabad yesterday for the treatment of his son, along with family, came to know that his house was broke open, and the thieves had decamped with 12 lakh and gold ornaments.

Ramesh babu said that before going to Hyderabad he had a safely kept Rs 12 lakh in ‘almarah’ and asked his brother-in-law to sleep at the house during the night to keep a watch of the house. However, the relative could not come house at night but later in the afternoon of next day, he visited the house and surprisingly found that the door was opened, and everything was thrown helter-skelter in the house.

The police immediately after knowing about the incident have swing into action and searched the area with dog squads. “We have booked a case of theft and investigating the case further from all angles. We will catch the thieves very soon,” informed Bhaskar, DSP Mahbubnagar.
