Choutuppal: In a tragic incident, two labourers, natives of Delhi, drowned in a water sump located on the agricultural fields of a farmer in Panthangi village of Choutuppal mandal in Yadadri district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Farid Shafi and Adhil Khan, who came to Pathangi village to build a poly house in the field of one Manohar Reddy.

According to sources, one of the labourers Farid stepped into the water sump to take a bath. However, soon he slipped into the waters. As Farid cried for help, his fellow labourer, Adhil, entered the waters to save him, but in vain. As both the laborers did not know how to swim, they drowned in the sump water.

Upon receiving information, the Choutuppal police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead bodies to government hospital for post-mortem. It is said that the workers came to Panthangi a month ago and they used to bath beside the sump by using water stored in drums. Choutuppal police registered a case and took up the investigation.
