Auto driver held for impregnating minor
Aiit Singh Nagar police registered a case against an auto driver Kadava Srinu (21) for allegedly raping a minor girl who is now five months pregnant. The girl is studying Class IX in corporation school at New RR Pet.
Vijayawada: Aiit Singh Nagar police registered a case against an auto driver Kadava Srinu (21) for allegedly raping a minor girl who is now five months pregnant. The girl is studying Class IX in corporation school at New RR Pet.
The accused has been harassing the girl for the past seven months and he finally developed physical relationship with the minor girl aged 14 years by promising marriage. The police reportedly took him into custody for questioning on Monday and registered a rape case and under sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The accused reportedly confessed to the crime.
Pregnancy of the girl came to light recently when local Anganwadi worker noticed that the girl was ill. She took the girl to the local hospital for medical check-up. After preliminary tests, the doctors confirmed that the girl is five months pregnant.
Shocked over the incident, grand mother of the girl had lodged a complaint with Ajit Singh Nagar police, who registered a rape case and other cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Investigation officer told The Hans India that the girl was shifted to the hospital for further examination and medical care. He said stringent action would be taken against the accused for impregnating the girl. The girl was not going to school for the past two months and did not inform the parents about the incident.
