Salur (Vizianagaram): Vizianagaram police have responded quickly and arrested the pastor who was charged with sexual harassment against the minors who have been residing in his missionary home.
Around 60 children were accommodated at the home and studying in nearby schools. The girl students residing at the home complained that Prasad Kumar and his son Sharon were misbehaving with them.
The students lodged complaints with the AP Women Commission and the police. On Tuesday, AP Women Commission member K Srivani along with ASP of Parvathipuram
A Barthar visited the home and conducted inquiry and got the information from girls at the home. Later, the ASP stated that they have arrested Prasad Kumar and searching for his son Sharone. Cases will be imposed against both under various sections, he said. Later the students were shifted to the social welfare and tribal welfare hostels near the village. The police also sealed the Christian home.
The children have explained to the Women Commission and police on how they were exploited by the pastor and his son. Srivani stated that the Commission would take serious action against organisers of such institutions. MLC G Sandhya Rani also visited the home and interacted with the students.
