Spurned by lover, woman dentist kills self

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a woman dentist allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room under the Chaitanyapuri police station limits allegedly after feeling cheated by her boyfriend who refused to marry her. According to the police, the woman was identified as Geeta Krishna, 25, a native of Jagityal. She was allegedly in a relationship with one Naresh, an IT employee working in Pune. However, Naresh who was known to her since childhood refused to marry her. Depressed over the development, a couple of days ago, she also discussed the matter with her parents, prior to committing suicide by hanging at her hostel room on Tuesday. She also alleged that the man mentally harassed her, during the recent days.

On Tuesday morning, her hostel mates were shocked to find her body hanging. The police, who were alerted by other inmates of the hostel, recovered the body in the afternoon. The police also found a suicide note purportedly written by her. In the note, she did not blame anyone for her death. Geetha allegedly stated that none was responsible for her suicide. She also mentioned that Naresh was her friend since her childhood and he was in no way responsible for her suicide and should not be harassed over the issue. However, her parents, alleging that Naresh pushed her to the brink of despair, demanded proper investigation into her death. The police registered a case and sent the body to post-mortem to Osmania General Hospital and began investigation.
