Two Ayyappa devotees killed and three others were critically injured when a car in which there were going to Mahboobnagar from Tirupati hit the culvert at Idamadaka village of Duvvuru mandal in the wee hours of Saturday. 

Kadapa: Two Ayyappa devotees killed and three others were critically injured when a car in which there were going to Mahboobnagar from Tirupati hit the culvert at Idamadaka village of Duvvuru mandal in the wee hours of Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Kanchi Sekhar,32 of Kosgi village, Tanguturu Angi, 27 of Madduru village in Mahboobnagar district. This incident occurred when the driver lost control over vehicle as he felt asleep.

According to police, five Ayyappa devotees went to pilgrimage for Sabarimala on December 15. In the return journey, they went to Tirupati for having darshan of Lord Venkateswara on Friday.

Later they started to Mahboobnagar from Tirupati. When the car reached Idamadaka village, the driver had lost control over the steering as he felt asleep hit the culvert. The injured Viswanath, Raju and Vasim Akram were shifted to Tyagalamarri government hospital where their condition is stated to be stable. Duvvuru police registered a case.
