Kadapa: Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths on Thursday caught Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) administrative officer Rajput Bharath Kumar Singh on the charges of accepting Rs 60,000 from RIMS hospital Superintendent C Ramesh Kumar Reddy for clearing his pending salary and allotment of post here on Thursday.

According to ACB DSP N Nagaraju, the victim C Ramesh Kumar Reddy, who was previously worked as superintendent in Nursing College of Anantapur, was transferred to RIMS and joined duty on November 21 last year in the same cadre. As per the procedure, the AO has to provide place of allotment and clear last pay certificate (LPC) for securing his salary where he is presently working.

Ramesh Kumar Reddy requested the AO several times to clear these two matters. Instead of responding to his appeals, the accused demanded the victim to pay Rs 1 lakh for moving LPC and allotment of place. Vexed with the AO attitude, Ramesh Kumar lodged a complaint with the ACB.
