Woman commits suicide in Nacharam
In a tragic incident, a 28-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at her residence in Nacharam on Thursday. According to the police, the woman took the extreme step due to depression over husband’s harassment for additional dowry.
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a 28-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at her residence in Nacharam on Thursday. According to the police, the woman took the extreme step due to depression over husband’s harassment for additional dowry.
According to police, Anusha was married to Ramakrishna, who works as home-guard. At the time of marriage, Anusha’s parents had bestowed dowry as demanded by Ramakrishna. However, he demanded more, then they gave Rs 1.6 lakh in addition to what they have given at the time of marriage. Despite taking the additional dowry, the home-guard did not seize his harassment.
On Thursday morning, the victim had called her mother Sathamma and talked to her in a desolated tone. After few minutes, when her mother called back, Anusha did not answer her phone calls. With a suspicion, Sathamma went to victim’s residence and broke open the door only to find her daughter hanging from the ceiling fan.
Based on the complaint from victim’s mother, the police have registered a case under Section 304(B) IPC and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
