An international conference on Artificial Intelligence and evolutionary computations in Engineering Systems & Power, Circuit and Information Technologies was inaugurated at Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science, Madanapalle (MITS) on Thursday.  

Hyderabad: An international conference on Artificial Intelligence and evolutionary computations in Engineering Systems & Power, Circuit and Information Technologies was inaugurated at Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science, Madanapalle (MITS) on Thursday.

Chief Guest MYS Prasad, Satish Dhawan Space Centre (ISRO), SHAR, Sriharikota said that any research or new technologies should be socially responsible and of utility to the nation. The research should focus on the problems of the mankind and be able to alleviate them. He expressed happiness on the quality of the selected research papers for presentation and publication. Such conferences would help the young researchers to exchange and contribute ideas on diverse research topics of interest to the mankind.

In 1963, he recalled, India sought the cooperation of several countries for the first satellite launch but now globally countries are seeking India’s cooperation in their satellite launches. Young scientists should focus on detecting early the probable earthquakes and other natural calamities such that people can be alarmed where Russia and China are ahead through their satellites. USA and Japan are using Robots to work with the astronauts with the help of artificial intelligence which is one of the topic of the conference. India stands sixth position in commercial launch of the satellites he emphasized.

SRM University Professor S S Dass speaking on the occasion said that smart grid by using artificial intelligence make power smart. Such an interdisciplinary conference by departments of EEE, ECE & CSE would pave way for such interdisciplinary researches more so on genetic algorithm, he added.

Swagatham Das, Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta highlighted that artificial intelligence would solve the problems in the shortest possible time. MITS Principal C Yuvaraj speaking on the occasion said that out of the 650 papers received from seven countries, 350 are selected through a stringent process. He welcomed the delegates and expressed happiness that for the sharing of these research papers MITS has become the platform. He also said that the faculty and students of MITS give lot of importance to the research and funding of their projects from UGS, AICTE, DST and other agencies and the faculty would continuously encourage the students.

Convener of the Conference, P Chandrababu Naidu said that the research papers selected are being published in different indexed international journals. Further the best papers selected by the 9 key note speakers would be awarded. Dr. P. Sanjeev Kumar, University of Johannesburg, South Africa speaking on the occasion said that the research should focus not only on simulation software but also on the development of the software. European universities are encouraging the Indian students with all the details incorporated in the MHRD website. Awareness must be created among the students on these areas. Ramjam Bayinder, Gazi University, Turkey, Raman Senkrek, Professor Tomis Beta University, Turkey, Tamarai, Sridevi, Kamal Basha, Vice Principal, Hampamma, Athar Sameena Khan, HoDs, other faculty and students have participated in the programme.
