Digital classrooms to be introduced in VMC Schools

Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation deputy educational officer K Durga Prasad said digital classroom method of teaching will be introduced for the students of Class IX in all the 28 corporation high schools from the academic year
2017-18. The digital class room will be highly intuitive classroom learning solution that will combine world-class interactive content, he said.

Speaking to The Hans India, Durga Prasad said that for the academic year 2017-18, Class X would remain same without any change in the medium of instruction. From Class I to VI, the medium of instruction would be English, and for Class VII to X, the option for choosing the medium of instruction was given to the parents, he said.

He further stated that as per the GO 210, rationalisation system would be followed and one teacher would be provided for less than 19 students. For students in between 20 and 60 there would be two teachers. Similarly, for student strength in the range of 61 to 80, there would be three teachers. If the student strength crosses 81 and up to 130, there would be five teachers. Above 131 students, one head-master would be allotted, along with one secondary grade teacher (SGT), for every additional 30 students, he said.

He said that in the first week of June, textbooks would be made available for all the classes.He said that by the school reopening day all the schools would have toilets, drinking water facility and electricity. He said that after the schools reopening donors meeting would be held and a decision would be taken on providing furniture and other facilities required for the schools.
