While education in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is free including boarding, lodging, uniforms and textbooks to the students, with CBSE syllabus.For the academic year of 2018-19, the JNV has released the entrance exam notification to fill the vacant seats for class IX.

In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) all over the country except Tamil Nadu. These are co-educational, residential schools, fully financed by Government of India and run by an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

At present there are 626 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya spread over 34 States including Union Territories of India.The main objective of these Vidyalayas is to provide quality modern education to the children predominantly from rural areas.

Eligibility:
Candidate appearing for the selection test must have passed Class VIII in the academic session 2017-18 from a Govt./Govt. recognized school in the district were he/she is seeking admission.

A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 01 - 05 - 2005 and after 30 - 04 - 2009. This will apply to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).

Examination:
The selection test will be of two - hour duration and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 100 questions in all of 100 marks. Each question carries one mark: Mental ability Test-50, Arithmetic Test-25 and Language Test-25.

How to Apply:
Aspirants can apply through Online Mode from the official website i.e. nvshq.org before the closing date i.e 05 April 2018. Candidates must have to submit the completely filled application form through Online Mode on the official website and take a hard copy of application from for future reference.
