Hyderabad: The Met department on Monday issued a warning that thunderstorms are very likely to occur at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh for next 48 hours. During the last 24 hours heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in coastal Andhra. Rain occurred at a few places in Rayalaseema, the department bulletin said.

Heavy rain in coastal districts could be attributed to the north-south trough from south-mid Maharashtra to northern parts of north Interior Karnataka from south-mid Maharashtra to the Lakshadweep area across coastal Karnataka, extending up to 1.5 km above the mean sea level. Another north-south trough from south Chhattisgarh to Rayalaseema extending up to 0.9 km above the mean sea level is persisting. The trough from Odisha to south Tamil Nadu across the coastal and Rayalaseema districts is also persisting.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few/many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and also at a few places in Rayalaseema from September 5 to 8. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.
