In Gurajala village, the Minister interacted with farmers, who were growing horticulture crops like sweet lemon. Farmers urged the Minister to take an initiative for sanctioning funds to secure water through private tankers.

A farmer Chandrasekhar Reddy of Gurajala village has informed the Minister that he was unable to raise crops due to fall in groundwater levels. Responding to his plea, Somireddy has assured farmers of sanctioning Rs 24,000 for two months to every farmer growing sweet lemon crop. He stated that an amount of Rs 12,000 will be disbursed to farmers in a month. The Minister said that a farmer should bear Rs 2,600 and remaining Rs 9,400 will be borne by the government.

He assured of the government setting up a cold storage unit at Pulivendula to store Banana and a godown at ammalamadugu for the benefit of farmers growing horticulture crops. Responding to the allegations of government failing to release crop insurance for Bengal Gram, the Minister replied that there was delay in releasing funds as the office is located in Telangana state. Somireddy said that the Regional Crop Insurance Office will be set up soon at Amaravati after consulting with Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.
