Nalgonda: District Jail Department, who were prior rendering services under service and self sufficiency at reasonable prices, have initiated to provide Rs 10 lunch at government hospital in Nalgonda. District Jail Department services include my nation stores, petrol bunk, manufacturing and sale of note books, phenyol, and assembled LED lights. District Jail Department with the aid of District Administration decided to provide Rs 10 lunch for the waiting relatives of the patients.

Speaking to The Hans India, District Jail Superintendent Srinivas said, based on the tokens issued, inmates will prepare food for Rs 10 lunch at the jail’s kitchen and the food will be then supplied at hospital’s waiting hall. The tokens would be issued at the district hospital every day between 9am and 10am and food will be served after 12 noon. The lunch consists of 2 roties, 1 cup rice, one curry with sambar, he added.

He further said the department submitted the proposal, of Rs 10 lunch scheme at government hospital, to District Collector Gaurav Uppal who sanctioned Rs 11.2 lakh for the construction of a separate kitchen shed at the Jail premises and for the procurement of latest kitchen equipment. Arrangements are underway and the Rs 10 lunch scheme would be implemented within two weeks, he added.
