Hyderabad: Campaigns are been organised by the Telangana State government to raise the awareness against polythene and plastic bags. The government has decided to impose ban on plastic bags during the Medaram Jatara, to begin from February 17.

Keeping this in mind an action plan has been prepared by the Telangana State government Pollution Control Board (TPCB) to create awareness among the devotees on the ban over the plastics and polythene bags during Medaram Jatara. Wall posters, CDS and banners were released in this regard.

The TPCB has also decided to conduct extensive campaign at various bus stations and railway stations in Warangal district. The government has also planned to deploy about 300 volunteers in order to organise awareness campaign.
