The protesting students stated that the decision to withdraw the disciplinary action would not provide any kind of relief as some of them had already served their terms of punishment and the rest were halfway through.
The university administration took disciplinary action against 11 students for being part of a protest against the delay in conducting students’ union elections. The students day and night protest entered third day on Tuesday. They continued occupy the lawn in front of the library and also slept there.
As part of the protest the Students' Union conducted an open screening of the film Pride at the lawn in front of the library where the protesting students are sleeping.
