Over 5.6 lakh apply for Group II posts
A whopping 5,64,431 candidates applied for the 439 Group II posts in the State. Of the total applicants, 3,61,052 are males and 2,03,379 are females. According to the data released by the Telangana State Public Service Commission here on Thursday, the highest number of applications was received from Karimnagar i.e. 80,442 followed by Nalgonda with 76,628 applications.

About 10,477 applications were also received from the candidates who were not from the Telangana State. Going by category-wise applications, BC-B candidates made the highest number of applications with 1,32,943 followed by SC candidates with 1,15,689 applications. Least number of applications were from BC-C candidates i.e. 3,794.
The TSPSC has released notification for filling 439 Group II posts. Of the total posts, 220 alone are Prohibition and Exercise Sub Inspectors (Excise Sub-service), 110 Assistant Commercial Tax Officers (Commercial Tax Sub-Service), 67 Extension Officers (Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Sub Service), 23 Sub-Registrars Grade II (Registration Sub-Service) and 19 Municipal Commissioners Grade III (Municipal Administration Sub Service).
