Hyderabad SSPF champs
Host Hyderabad District School won the School Sports Promotion Foundation (SSPF) inter-district football championship-cum-selection trails conducted by Sports Authority of India (SAI) and SSPF Hyderabad at Gymkhana Ground on Monday.

Hyderabad defeated Mahaboobnagar 4-2 in the tie-breaker to win the title. Both the teams played a fast and attacking game but failed to score in the first0half.
On resumption, Hyderabad took the lead in the 50th minute, thanks to Shubham Sangwan’s header after a pass by left winger Saif Ansari.
Even as it looked like Hyderabad was poised for a win, Vinay Kumar scored the equalizer two minutes before the end of regulation time.
In the tie-breaker, Hyderabad goalkeeper Mahdi Ali stopped two penalties to help the team annex the trophy.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Hyderabad beat Ranga Reddy 2-0 with goals coming from Shoib Akhtar and Shubham Sangwan. Mahaboobnagar, riding on Srikanth Reddy’s goal in the 53rd minute, defeated Karimnagar 1-0 in the other semifinal.
SS Hakeem, Olympian and Chairman of SSPF gave away the prizes. Yesteryear stalwarts like A Aleem Khan, AJaisu Raj, SA Mateen, Laiquddin Khan, Masi Khan, Manoj Kumar and Vijay Kumar were also present.
