The announcement came from Pearson on Friday. With this recognition, nurses from India will be able to use PTE Academic test for registering to work and also migrating to Australia.

Commenting on the development, business head and Vice-President of Pearson India Vikas Singh said, “English language proficiency is important for success of professionals and students seeking to pursue their career in Australia.

It is critical to be able to prove this skill using the most up-to-date testing method and technology. Pearson’s global expertise in English language has helped PTE Academic to develop latest methodology and adopt technologies that are secure and accurate.

We are confident of assisting Indian nurses as well as Australian health employers through English skills assessment.”

The computer-based language test offers international students and employment seekers a fast, fair and flexible way of proving their English language proficiency. Globally, it is accepted by thousands of academic programmes, as well as by the DIBP for all immigration and student visa applications.

The test is accepted by universities in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland and a few of the leading ones in the USA, UK, Canada and Singapore among others.

The PTE Academic is currently administered in test centres in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Gandhinagar, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patiala, Pune, Rajkot and Vijayawada.
