The Colruyt group along with National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) foundation announced the launch of its first ‘National Digital Literacy Mission’ (NDLM) centre, which will be set up in Borabanda. 

The Colruyt group along with National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) foundation announced the launch of its first ‘National Digital Literacy Mission’ (NDLM) centre, which will be set up in Borabanda.

The centre would be established to train as many as 1,000 beneficiaries from the under-served communities on digital services especially computers and mobile phones every year. Once trained, the beneficiaries would be able to send e-mails, connect on social media,

buy random things from e-commerce websites and will even know how to use internet to avail government services such as registering for aadhar cards, ration cards, Permanent Account Number (PAN) cards and many others.

Thanking the IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Colruyt group’s Head of India Operations, Hari Subramanian said, “We are an organisation committed towards community development and improvement of the quality of life in the society we live in.

For solving the purpose of company’s principles, we are collaborating with NASSCOM foundation to contribute to the NDLM mission of the government of India and thank them for helping us in achieving our objective.”

Also present on the occasion, Ranjan said, “Digital literacy is the backbone of the digital economy that India aspires to be and Telangana Government has been extremely sincere towards empowering its citizens digitally. We welcome more such multi-stakeholder partnerships.”

Speaking about the importance of digital literacy for empowering the under-served and rural communities the CEO of NASSCOM foundation Shrikant Sinha said, “Working in partnership with Colruyt, NASSCOM Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its 135th centre across India.

Being digitally literate would help the citizens access services as Hyderabad continues its journey towards becoming a smart and 100 per cent digitally literate city.”
