Radio City 91.1 FM has announced its singing talent hunt ‘Radio City Super Singer Season-8’ (RCSS-8) recently. Radio City has started this initiative seven years ago to encourage the talent of singers across India.
“The journey of last seven seasons of Radio City Super Singer has been an endeavour in itself. It has undoubtedly carved its mark and given some great talent to the industry. We are certain that this edition will also be a phenomenal success across the country,” Kartik Kalla, Executive Vice President and National Head Programming, Audacity, Radio City shared.
This year Radio City is expecting more than five crore audience across 28 states. Karthik informed that the auditions started on August 11 in Southern and Western markets and on August 22 in the Northern markets and will conclude on August 27.
“This year the auditions for RCSS-8 are being held across 28 cities wherein, contestants have the option of auditions through multiple platforms which include walk-ins at Radio City studios every day between 10 am and 5 pm; singers can also register by calling or sending an SMS and there are also auditions at various malls at certain locations.
To top that we also have college auditions. Singers can also upload or record their voice clips on Planetradiocity.com. After the shortlisting phase, the finalists would be announced on-air for each city with a finale being held in September.”
“Since the inception of Radio City Super Singers, we have received an overwhelming response, from the contestants and listeners, which is undoubtedly growing year on year.
Last year we witnessed 2.1 lakh auditions nationally and this year we expecting more with the expansion of taking the contest to eight more cities like Agra, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Karnal, Hisar, Jalandhar and Ranchi,”
“Every city has a separate winner. Final five contestants will battle it out in each city for the “Numero Uno” position. Participants will get a chance to win a cash prize along and they will also be featured live on Radio City 91.1FM,” he said.
