After a brief hiatus Kamal Sidhu, a former model, VJ and actress is back where she belongs to with her new show ‘Vogue BFF’ on Colors Infinity. In a freewheeling chat with NAVIN PIVHAL, she speaks about her break, come back to celluloid and her brand new show.

Sharing about the reason for taking a break from TV she says, “Well, I had a child in 2009 and my husband and I actually decided to live an ideal life, like in paradise on a beach and stuff. We were still young, so for three years we moved to the seaside and opened up a boutique hotel and enjoyed life on the beach and sea. And then it was time to start school for my kid so we came back to Mumbai.”

“I always believed in doing things quite hands on including motherhood. I was not the type of parent to have a bunch of nannies, etc. For years, I really focused on that, now he is seven and he is going to school.

So it gave me the freedom to get back to some good TV. And luckily this year two good opportunities came – hosting Olympics on Star Sports and ‘Vogue BFF’ on Colors Infinity. It was not like that I haven’t done any work in between. I had a couple of shows here and there,” she adds.

About the show, she says, “It’s been amazing, the combination of Vogue and Colors Infinity coming together to produce a show like this is great -- I knew that it would be of really good quality and the content is a lot of fun. It is a very positive show with a good vibe. It is something when you put on, it makes you happy.”

Which pair was fun to interview? “The beauty of the show is that each pair of BFF brings in a whole energy onto the sets, so you don’t know when, what kind of energy they will bring along with them. So far it has been very unique. Deepika and Anhaita were very happy and stylish on the show.

The pair of Kajol and Mickey shares a great bond and there were a lot of jokes and laughter around. And same was for Anil and Arjun Kapoor; they share good bond and chemistry between them was very good. In that sense all the pairs we interviewed we managed to make them comfortable.”

Any fun moments on the show? “It happens in every episode I think it was pretty funny for me to see Anil Kapoor dance in one of our games. We played celebrity charade and he was trying to emulate Hillary and his mannerisms made everybody laugh and smile. Mahesh and Alia are coming up in a couple of weeks.

It was beautiful to see father and daughter equation between them and how genuine their relationship was. It reminded me of my dad and my relationship with him. So that was really a fun episode.”

Who is Kamal’s BFF? “My husband and my sister are my BFF’s. My sister lives in Canada and we don’t get to see each other often. My Husband and I enjoy a lot in each other company. BFFs are people you can trust, have a great time with them.”
