Kothagudem: Seeking voting rights in MLC polls and other demands, the Sarpanches of Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts are going to hold a dharna on Tuesday in Hyderabad. Speaking to The Hans India, president of the Sarpanches Association Dharavath Chandu Naik said the dharna was to take the issues faced by the Sarpanchs to government’s note

Seeking right to vote in MLC elections, he sought vehicle and security with gunmen for the Sarpanchs of major village anchayats. He further sought representation in district development council and meetings organised by Integrated Tribal Development Authority board of directors. Chandu Naik also demanded fund enhancement for panchayats as paying salaries and maintaining sanitation has become a big problem with scarce funds. Chandu Naik called upon every Sarpanch in Telangana to participate in dharna and make it a grand success.
