Nirmal: Ever since the State Government has come to power in 2014, the decisions taken by it have never been steady and always resulted in disappointing the people. Be it any reforms or other issues, the decisions has always been jinxed due to mixed opinions of the governing bodies.

For example, the decision of starting the school’s academic session on March 21 last year, was cancelled due to the inadequate supply of the text books. The recent decision which has played a spoilsport to many people, especially to the students and teachers was the scheduled dates of 2nd term holidays which were supposed to be from 11th to 15th January has been suddenly changed from 12th to 16th January.

It may be so easy for a government to change the decisions taken in a fraction of second, but for the people who get affected due to this uncertainty is a reason to worry.

Most of the teachers of government and private schools have planned their holidays in advance keeping the Sankranthi festival in view, ensuring they spend maximum time with family. Having booked the tickets, planned holidays, the change in holidays schedule came as a big shock to many, especially the children who thought of enjoying their holidays with their families. .

As a result, they had to cancel their tickets, give up the plans for holidays and end up rendering their services at school. There were very less number of students seen in the district due to the uncertain decisions as most of the families have left for their holidays.

Almost 5% to 20% of students have attended the schools leaving the schools almost deserted without maximum attendance. Such flippant decision making affects the very faith in the governing bodies and their decision making skills as well.
