Irregularities alleged in Telangana police constable recruitment test
Some of the candidates who appeared for the recently-concluded police constable recruitment test alleged irregularities. The unsuccessful candidates alleged that some of those who have been shortlisted for selection have got lesser marks than that of the local candidates. Injustice was done to the genuine candidates, they lamented.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, one of the candidates, Satyanarayana, said only 300 candidates from Nirmal, Mancherial and Asifabad were selected out of 1,225 vacancies in the undivided Adilabad district. The unemployed have been alleging that non locals got jobs in the recruitment test.
Protesting against postings to those who secured lesser marks compared to marks obtained by local candidates, the unemployed organised a demonstration in front of the office of the Superintendent of Police here and submitted a memorandum to Assistant Superintendent of Police Pavasa Reddy seeking action against those who perpetrated the irregularities in conducting the test. The ASP assured the unemployed that he would take their problems to the notice of higher authorities.
They lamented that reserved posts in the ratio of 80:20 for locals and non-locals has been thrown to winds. Their grouse against the JNTU, which conducted the recruitment test was that it had not mentioned the cut off marks in the test. They have been appealing to the JNTU authorities to include the cut off marks in the results and place it in their website.
They also demanded the authorities to define the local candidates. Securing jobs by candidates who got lesser marks than the local candidates would mean officials are forcing them to remain unemployed. If they did not get jobs, they have no alternative except committing suicide as they have spent thousands of rupees for coaching.
One of the applicants for the constable’s post, Sarojana complained about not implementing the 33.3 per cent quota for women in constable jobs like other sectors. Sarojana, who got 95 per cent marks in the open category, pointed out that candidates who got lesser marks got jobs.
A tribal applicant Sravanti alleged that injustice was meted out to reserved categories as well. Though she belonged to the ST category, because of the irregularities, she said she did not get job, she bemoaned.
District BJP leaders threatened to lay siege to CM K Chandrashekar Rao’s house in Hyderabad if justice was not done to the local candidates.
