Sumarg, a free coaching programme to youth appearing for competitive exams, is the latest to add to its list of success with as many as 121 candidates of the 220 it trained ending up with jobs.

Hanamkonda: Warangal Police Commissionerate is on a roll. And why not, especially against the backdrop of its tremendous success in whatever it does. Sumarg, a free coaching programme to youth appearing for competitive exams, is the latest to add to its list of success with as many as 121 candidates of the 220 it trained ending up with jobs.
In a bid to give substance to the employment dreams of those less fortunate, the Commissionerate has offered free coaching classes last year. For the purpose, it conducted prelims and shortlisted 220 aspirants to provide intense coaching to them by engaging subject experts from Hyderabad.
The shortlisted aspirants were offered a 90-day module coaching from March 27, 2016 for the competitive exams such as Sub-inspector and Constable posts. During the coaching, the police provided them with lunch, tea and snacks, besides providing them with study material worth Rs 3,000 free of cost.
Against this backdrop, the results announced by the Telangana State Police Recruitment Board a couple of days ago revealed that 121 of the 220 candidates got selected for the constable jobs. Majority of these selectees are also awaiting the final results of Sub-Inspector recruitment test.
This apart, nine other candidates were also got selected for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and one Sub-inspector (Intelligence Bureau).
Speaking to The Hans India, Erukonda Swapna, who one among the 21 girls got selected for the constable post, said: “The coaching offered by the police was a godsend opportunity for me at a time when the private coaching centres were charging anywhere around Rs 5,000. The hospitality extended by the police right through the prelims, events and main exam is unforgettable.”
The study material supplied to us free of cost is of immense help, she said, profusely thanking the Commissioner for taking special care and meeting them at regular intervals to boost their morale. Swapna, with M Sc and B Ed academic background, is waiting for the results of the Sub-Inspector test.
Commending the selectees, Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu, the brainchild behind the Sumarg programme, said: “Hard work, dedication and perseverance are the key to success. What we need is now a service-oriented approach.”
Sub-Inspector M Sampath Kumar, who was in-charge of the training, attributed the success to the Commissioner.
