While social media has paved way for easy communication, a lasting impression on the consumer is difficult to achieve. And one of the crucial things that leave a lasting impression is literally demonstrating the features of your product/service; because if the feature is so breathtaking, then its demo will be jaw-dropping.

Japanese automobile giant Nissan had recently launched its much-appreciated GT-R in India last December. And as the Nissan GT-R was one of the most anticipated sports car, the response was awe-inspiring. It had been approximately two months since the car launched and the excitement was still building…

In a breathtaking campaign, Nissan brought the GT-R back in the talks by entering the Limca Book of Records with its ‘Nissan GT-R Map of India’. Paying #LegendarySalute to India on Republic Day, Nissan created the largest outline of the Indian map. By saluting the land of legends, Nissan chose unconventional way to let the dirt off through the GT-R make a buzz across the world.

The awesome feat was performed at Rajasthan’s Sambhar Lake; the outline of the Indian map had a total perimeter of 14.7km, 3km long and 2.8km wide. It is not often that a legend pays a tribute to another legend, this time it was Nissan GT-R.

Besides fetching Nissan a record in the Limca Books, the campaign also demonstrated the precision of Nissan GT-R. With renowned Rally driver Rahul Kanhraj on the wheels, Nissan depicted spot-on accuracy of the GT-R by plotting coordinated on the GPS and drifting across multiple laps to achieve the spectacular outline of the India map.

And as dust rose in respect to honour the land of legends, Nissan GT-R’s legendary precision was put to test; hands down, the GT-R’s precision was disruptive. A feat like this does not happen every day; Nissan did not waste even a single particle of the dust raised by the GT-R. It not just teased the event but also created enormous engagement on the social media. So much so, that the video became the most engaging tweet. By aggressively promoting the digital video, Nissan capitalised on the hair-rising stunt video.

Highlighting the unique precision capabilities of the GT-R and other outstanding technologies of the car, Nissan went aggressive on this one, called it #OMGTR moment. Both the hashtag and the video spread like wildfire on social media, majorly because it not only showed another sports car drifting at mad angles and lifting the dirt off the ground, but because the dust that rose this time was in the honour for the land of legends. Now that is igniting the spirit of patriotism in a unique way…
