Top cops to meet today
A meeting of the top police officials of Telangana and Chhattisgarh is understood to have been planned for Friday. It assumes significance since it would be held close on the heels of the last week’s meeting of the officials of Odisha, Telangana and Chhattisgarh at Jagadalpur.

In Friday’s meeting, the senior police officials of elite squads of the COBRA, the CRPF and the STF would take part, it is learnt. Two helicopters carrying them from Bijapur in Chhattisgarh have already landed at Purushottapatnam, near here. They immediately left for Kothagudem in two mini buses.
What would transpire at the meeting could not be known immediately. However, according to sources, the visiting police officials from Chhattisgarh will stay put here for two more days and discuss perhaps ways and means to deal with the Maoists. The police dismissed the meeting as normal and routine and nothing serious.
Field officers to meet today
However, District Superintendent of Police Amber Kishore Jha said that a meeting of field officers would be held here on Friday to discuss problems on policing along Telangana and Chhattisgarh border regions. The objective is to foster mutual bond of friendship among the forces of the two states.
