Nizamabad Mayor Akula Sujatha participated in a programme called ‘Basti Baata’  in the city on Friday in which she paid a visit to the fifth and sixth  municipal wards to know about the problems that the people were facing. 

Nizamabad: Nizamabad Mayor Akula Sujatha participated in a programme called ‘Basti Baata’ in the city on Friday in which she paid a visit to the fifth and sixth municipal wards to know about the problems that the people were facing.

Speaking to the media, she said that she was undertaking the tour of various municipal wards to mingle with the people rather than making them come to her. The government officials should go to the people and the not the other way round, she added. Residents of the municipal wards narrated their woes to her.

The Mayor advised the people not to throw the filth and garbage on the roads but wait till the garbage lifting vans come to their localities to collect it. She directed the municipal corporation officials to take action immediately to redress the grievances of the people.

She thanked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for sanctioning funds worth Rs 100 crore for the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation and assured the people that they would be utilised for developmental purposes.

Municipal corporation of the fifth division Panchareddy Narsubai, sixth division corporator Purushottam, Municipal Commissioner Venkateshwarlu and others were present.
