Kamareddy: The officials working at the Collectorate had to travel all the way to the RDO office to attend video conference (VC) as the Collectorate lacks the facility. It may be recalled that Kamareddy came into existence as the new district five months ago. The district administration has been facing inconvenience since then due to lack of basic amenities including video conference facility (VCF) at the Collectorate.

There is n emergency requirement for a VCF at the Collectorate. The Ministers and other higher officials conduct VCs on various issues from the State Secretariat on regular basis. The District Collector, the Joint-Collector and other officials of the Collectorate have to take part in the video conference.

Besides, there the District Collector has to conduct video conferences with mandal level officials on a regular basis. This has become common in almost all the district. Sometimes, the Ministers and other senior level officers also conduct video conferences with district level officers from Hyderabad.

In order to attend video conferences, the officials travel two kilometres to the RDO office in the town. The officials have to start at least half an hour before the commencement of the conference. This shows that there would be a time lapse of at least an hour for their travel to and fro. There will also be a time lapse for waiting which would be about another hour.

If the same facility is available at the Collectorate, the officials could reach the conference hall in less than five minutes. This would save a lot of time for them. There won’t be any disruption for other works too. This would give a big sigh of relief for those coming to the Collectorate.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, the officials expressed the hope that the State goveremnt would provide the video conference facility as soon as possible.
