Warangal: Gearing up to host the high-decibel TRS public meeting on April 27, Warangal will turn into a virtual fortress as over 6,000 police personnel will be part of security cordon.

With over a million crowd expected to descend on Prakashreddypet apart from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao along with almost all his Cabinet members, the police threw a heavy security blanket while drawing a multi-pronged security plan that includes technology-aided surveillance to maintain constant vigil.

To ensure smooth flow of traffic, the security arrangements have been divided into 12 sectors. Each of these sectors will be headed by an official of Additional Superintendent of Police cadre or Assistant Commissioner of Police cadre.

On the surface it may look like 6,000-odd personnel manning all the arterial junctions that make way to public meeting venue, but the number of special parties working in mufti is said to be more.

Insisting that their duty was not over until the last man leaves for home safely, the Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu said: “An animation route map is being prepared that will guide the people how to reach the meeting venue.

It would be posted on social networking sites such as WhatsApp and Facebook for the benefit of people attending the meeting. Apart from crowd management, there are several key elements that must be considered which hold equal importance to ensure the event go peacefully.”

Meanwhile, there was a concern over the safety of the people coming from the parking zones near Bhattupally have to cross the Kazipet-Warangal railway track. With Prakashreddypet is very close to railway track, the authorities appear to have understood the safety concerns of the people turning to the meeting venue. This is where the police will have a close watch.

The authorities have identified nine parking zones spread across 1,463 acres at different places. Parking zones 1 to 3 have been allotted for vehicles coming from Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda and Jangaon districts through Kadipikonda Cross, Bhattupally and Dargah Road.

Vehicles coming from Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Siddipet, Narsampet, Bhupalpally districts have to be parked at parking zones 4 to 6 at Rajiv Gruhakalpa. Parking zone 8 was allotted for the vehicles from Waranga East and West areas via Hunter road and CSR Garden. For those coming by tractors and two-wheelers, parking zone 7 and 9 have been allotted.
