Bhadrachalam: Chantings of Jai Sriram echoed the temple town on Tuesday with people from two Telugu states observing Sri Rama Deeksha by taking out a procession through the thoroughfares of the town. The devotees thronged the temple town during the conclusion of Sri Rama Punarvasu Deeksha.

The devotees took a holy dip in River Godavari and had darshan of Lord Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple.

At Chitrakuta mandapam, they performed special pujas. Led by temple Devasthanam Assistant Executive Officer Sravan Kumar and main priest of the temple, Podicheti Jagannadhacharyulu, the devotees went in a procession through the thoroughfares of the town and returned to the temple.

The locals offered Vadapappu, Panakam and drinking water to the devotees. The temple provided free food to the devotees on the occasion.

A chariot festival was exclusively organised for the benefit of devotees. On Tuesday, Coronation of Lord Sri Rama was also performed.
